Selenomethionine
The selenium is contained in the capsule as selenomethionine. This is a compound in which selenium is bound to the amino acid methionine. The form appears exactly like this on the label and in the list of ingredients.
Directions and interval to other preparations
The directions on the label read: 1 capsule daily with sufficient liquid. If you also take calcium, iron or zinc preparations, the label asks you to keep an interval of 2–3 hours. More than one capsule a day is not intended.
What else is in the capsule
Rice flour is included as a bulking agent. The capsule shell is made of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) instead of gelatine, which is why the product is vegan. The capsule contains no anti-caking agents and no preservatives. The ingredients in the order of the label: rice flour, capsule shell (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), selenomethionine.
