NUI L-Arginine & L-Citrulline 2:1 is a food supplement with the amino acids L-arginine and L-citrulline. The daily dose of 4 capsules contains 1,652 mg L-arginine and 828 mg L-citrulline, which is about twice as much L-arginine as L-citrulline. That is where the “2:1” in the name comes from. At 4 capsules a day, a pack of 60 capsules lasts 15 days.
L-arginine and L-citrulline
Both ingredients are amino acids. L-arginine occurs in protein-containing foods. The “L-” in front of the name refers to the spatial form of the molecule. No nutrient reference value (NRV) has been established for either of them, which is why the nutrition table shows a dash. The EU has not authorised any health claim for L-arginine or L-citrulline either. For this reason you will find no statements here about what the two do in the body, only what the capsule contains and how to take it.
How to take the capsules
Take 2 capsules twice daily with sufficient liquid, i.e. 4 capsules a day. Do not take more than this daily dose: the recommended daily dose must not be exceeded. If you have an acute cold sore, the label says to pause intake for a few days.
Not suitable for everyone
According to the label, the product is not to be taken by children, pregnant women, breastfeeding women or persons with a disorder of protein metabolism. Keep the pack out of the reach of young children.
What else is in the capsule
The list of ingredients has three entries: L-arginine, L-citrulline and the capsule shell. The shell is made of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) instead of gelatine, which is why the product is vegan. The capsule contains no anti-caking agents and no preservatives.
